Many have unsubdued, unhumbled hearts, and think more of their own little grievances and trials than of the souls of sinners. If they had the glory of God in view, they would feel for perishing souls around them; and as they realized their perilous situation, would take hold with energy, exercising faith in God, and hold up the hands of His servants, that they might boldly, yet in love, declare the truth and warn souls to lay hold upon it before the sweet voice of mercy should die away. Said the angel, "Those who profess His name are not ready." Sudden Destruction LATEST NEWS AND COMMENT ITEM: (popup required): Slate, March 3, 2010 - The Shame Cycle - The new backlash against casual sex Compelling research shows that hooking up is not psychologically damaging, and only purity-ring-clutching evangelicals believe that it's wrong to have sex before marriage. Feminist Web sites advise that is it our "feminist duty to 1) seek pleasure and feel entitled to it and 2) to make the world a more orgasmic place for other women." And yet there seems to be something else at play in the culture that's making Klausner and Anderson regretful, some new wave of anti-orgasmic sexual conservatism that makes you hate yourself for what you did last night. TSTL: 1 Thessalonians 4:3 "For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication." The more society denies it, the more they prove that God's ways are best and blessed. A night of pleasure or a life of uncommitted relations may seem pleasurable but long term it is not. And evangelicals are not the only ones that should believe that sex outside of marriage is wrong. |
