The Coming
New World Order
(Lesson 1)
In the preface, it was stated that right before the second coming, specific messages would be preached around the world. These messages are recorded in Revelation 14:6-12, and we know it precedes the second coming because these verses are placed prior to the return of Christ as depicted in verse 14. In this lesson, we would like to address a particular phrase from verse 7 – "Fear God." How do we know a god exists to fear? Well, we know the Living God exists because His Holy Word the Bible says He does. But can we trust the Bible? How do we know that men created this book with divine inspiration? God placed prophecies in the Bible of which the men who recorded such had trouble understanding (Daniel 8:27 "And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it]."). Even though they did not understand, they still recorded it. As history reveals, the predictions were right on target and have stood the test of time so as to prove the Bible’s trustworthiness in being inspired. This gives credence to the fact that God does exist.
This lesson takes a look at a specific prophecy that spans over 2,500 years and contains certain twists revealing that only God could have guided the recording, as we shall see. He is the only one that knows the future (Isaiah 46:10). The prophecy deals with the next World Order, which is a fascinating subject. It is one that even former President George Bush spoke often on. It has many Christians excited and yet concerned.
What Does the Bible Reveal
About the New World Order?
During the sixth century BC, a dream was given to king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. God then used Daniel, a captive Jew, to interpret the dream. This God inspired interpretation answers our question.
Daniel 2:1-3 "And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream." As typical with pagan kings, king Nebuchadnezzar relied upon magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, Chaldeans, and the like for answers instead of God. How did they perform?
Daniel 2:4-6 "Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation. The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill. But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof." They did not perform too well and the king began to see this, so he resorted to threats and bribes. Did that work?
Daniel 2:7-12 "They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it. The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me. But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, [there is but] one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof. The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore [there is] no king, lord, nor ruler, [that] asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. And [it is] a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise [men] of Babylon." As we see, they are getting desperate. This is the first client that was not playing by the rules. The client is to tell the dream, then they make something up, and the client is to believe it. But king Nebuchadnezzar saw through it and ordered a death decree.
The magicians, astrologers, and Chaldeans could not get it right 2,500 years ago, but did you know that even Christians rely upon their advice today? Just a hundred years ago, no Christian would entertain these practices but it has infiltrated Christianity today in the form of palm readings, horoscopes, magic shows, superstitions, fortune telling, and much more. We even had a president whose wife planned his schedule by horoscopes and astrology. Some might say though, "I don’t believe that stuff. I’m just having fun. I can’t see what’s wrong with that!" By playing with such stuff, a Christian is now on Satan’s turf, and to deny the power of horoscopes and the like is to deny the power of Satan. Further, you are preaching sin and Satan’s message instead of God’s. [More on this in the next lesson.] There are Christians that actually believe in the accuracy of horoscopes, superstitions, and the like. When asked how they can be a Christian and yet follow these pagan religious practices, most reply "My church doesn’t teach otherwise," "My parents and friends taught me these things," or "I see other Christians doing these things." Think of it this way. Do you know how to boil a live frog? I am not an advocate of such, but do you know how to do it? If you get the water boiling hot and toss the frog in, he will just hop out. To boil a frog, get some lukewarm water and put the frog in it. He will swim around. Now begin to turn up the temperature slowly. The frog will not notice the temperature increase and shortly be cooked. And that is what Satan does. People ask, "What’s wrong with this?" Well, nothing at face value though it is not the perfect way of God. That means, though it may look harmless, Satan is leading one step at a time away from God and sooner or later, and many times too late, Satan’s trap has its victim.
Let us look at this subject based on Biblical evidence. Is there any recording of Jesus hanging around these shysters? None. Is there any recording of Jesus putting on a magic show or providing a horoscope? None. And looking at the Israelites, how many God ordained magicians, palm readers, and the like were set up? None. In fact, the Bible is very clear in regards to dabbling in religious practices of the heathen nations, and time after time when the Israelites did practice such things; they fell into paganism and forsook God. We are to learn from their mistakes. Do not be fooled. Dabbling in these satanic things will lead to forsaking God. To stay safe, practice what God ordained. Learn from the Israelites and look not at things outside of what God ordains. Some may argue that those things do work and provide benefits. Satan is not stupid. If it were 100% unreliable, no one would consider it. He has to provide some sense of reliability, which is the bait. Even if the reliability factor is 99%, forsake it if God did not ordain it. Is there direct council? Leviticus 19:31 "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God."
Back to the dream, why did the shysters not make something up? The answer is fear. If one told a lie and another got greedy and tried to out lie the first person, there might be a good chance the first lie would not be believed and death would result no matter if the king got his answer or not. So now the death decree went forth seeing that the king did not receive an answer. This decree involved more than the shysters. Notice who else is involved.
Daniel 2:13 "And the decree went forth that the wise [men] should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain." Now how did Daniel get caught up in this? Well, as is explained in Daniel chapter 1, when king Nebuchadnezzar sent his troops in to sweep across Israel and conquer it, he selected the finest teenagers for his service. Daniel and his three friends, who will be introduced in a moment, were thrown into a classroom to be re-educated the Chaldean way. If the practicing shysters were being put to death, all the students would be as well. What is Daniel’s response?
Daniel 2:14-18 "Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise [men] of Babylon: He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why [is] the decree [so] hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation. Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise [men] of Babylon." Notice how Daniel handled the situation, which is an example for us in times of crisis. First, Daniel did not go home worrying about the problem. Second, he did not ask his friends for their opinion; he asked them to pray with him. He was practicing the words spoken by Jesus a few hundred years later. Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." By the way, Satan’s counterfeit to prayerfully dealing with issues is called gossip -- something to consider. Also, we should not suffer from stress if we truly believe that God answers prayer. One of the most stressful situations is that of losing one’s life, yet Daniel was quite calm; he was able to sleep that night! That means, all our concerns are but small stuff, and we should never sweat the small stuff. Amen? So what was God’s response?
Daniel 2:19-23 "Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast [now] made known unto us the king's matter." God does answer prayer, and notice that Daniel thanked God immediately. What did Daniel do with the information?
Daniel 2:24-28 "Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise [men] of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise [men] of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation. Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation. The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name [was] Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof? Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise [men], the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king; But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these." Notice that Daniel gives credit where credit is due. He acknowledges that God is the source of knowledge. He also makes it clear that it is foolish to be consulting with the magicians, soothsayers, astrologers, and the like.
Before we continue on, you may have noticed that Daniel was addressed by another name – Belteshazzar. Daniel’s three friends also have other names. These are Babylonian names. Why a Jewish name and a Babylonian name? Well, the Jewish name is chosen to revere God. King Nebuchadnezzar, thinking himself to be a god, could not stand for that type of reminder, so he renamed them with names that revered the Babylonian gods. So what did the king dream?
Daniel 2:29-36 "As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came [into thy mind] upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass. But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for [any] wisdom that I have more than any living, but for [their] sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart. Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness [was] excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof [was] terrible. This image's head [was] of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet [that were] of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. This [is] the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king." King Nebuchadnezzar must have been on the edge of his seat with his chin dropped open. Detail for detail of the dream was given.
How do we understand the meaning of this dream? Remember from the preface, to understand the mysteries of the Bible, there is an important principle. Isaiah 28:9-10 tells us that we must search all the scriptures, and 2 Peter 1:19-21 tells us that the Bible is its own interpreter and is not for private interpretation. Besides, Daniel just told us "This [is] the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king." We do not need to buy one of the many books on the market full of private interpretations. Let us allow Daniel and the Bible alone to tell us the meaning of this dream.
Daniel 2:37-38 "Thou, O king, [art] a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou [art] this head of gold." Without any guesswork, Daniel states that king Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian kingdom are represented by the head of gold. Babylon was known for its hanging gardens, was known as the golden city, had a population of 200 million, seemed impregnable with walls 200 feet high and 30 feet thick, and contained 200 temples. It reigned from 606 to 538 BC.
This dream of a statue provides us with a perfect timeline which begins in 606 BC and concludes in the "latter days" as Daniel stated. Let us continue on to see what the other pieces represent allowing the Bible to interpret itself.
Daniel 2:39a "And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee." Babylon was predicted to fall which it did in the year 538 BC. Notice that an inferior kingdom would conquer it as silver is inferior to gold. What kingdom does the two arms and chest of silver represent? Daniel does not tell the king the actual kingdoms to follow, but an incident that happened years later, as recorded in Daniel chapter 5, does reveal the answer.
Daniel 5:1-5 "Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which [was] in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which [was] at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote." As these verses reveal, a descendant of king Nebuchadnezzar is now in charge, Belshazzar, revealing that Babylon is still ruling. Now during this party, a bloodless hand writes something on the wall. By the way, this is where we get the phrase, "The writing is on the wall." Now Belshazzar repeats the same thing by calling in the shysters who let him down and finally resorts to calling in Daniel.
Daniel 5:13-14 "Then was Daniel brought in before the king. [And] the king spake and said unto Daniel, [Art] thou that Daniel, which [art] of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry? I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods [is] in thee, and [that] light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee." What does the writing mean?
Daniel 5:25-31 "And this [is] the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This [is] the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and [put] a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. And Darius the Median took the kingdom, [being] about threescore and two years old." Clearly verse 28 reveals the next kingdom as the Medes and Persians. Notice how God used symbolism. The second kingdom is not a single nation. In the overthrow of Babylon, two nations joined forces because one had the might and the other had the brains. How did people form contracts before lawyers got involved? By a handshake hence the use of the chest and arms of silver representing the joint effort. The Medo-Persian empire began in 538 BC but lasted only until 331 BC because it was conquered by the next world power.
Continuing on with the explanation of the statue, we pick up with the second half of Daniel 2:39, "And another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth." A third inferior kingdom followed the Medo-Persian Empire. What was that kingdom?
Again, allowing the Bible to interpret itself, we must put the dream on hold again, change chapters since Daniel does not tell us in chapter 2 who it is, and investigate another vision that Daniel experienced a number of years later. Daniel 8:2 "And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai." All that is established is that Daniel had a vision. What did he see?
Daniel 8:4-7 "I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes. And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand." Daniel saw two animals fighting to the death. The he goat subdued the ram. As we will see, these are two empires with the second taking over the first. Which empires are they? Daniel tells us.
Daniel 8:20-21 "The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia. And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king." The ram with its two horns represents the joint effort of the Medes and Persians, but more importantly, Greece subdued them. Greece is the third world Empire. Who was the first king of Greece? Alexander the Great who swiftly conquered the whole then known world at the age of 30. This swiftness of takeover was depicted in verse 5 where it states "touched not the ground." Greece though, only ruled from 331 BC to 168 BC making room for the fourth world empire.
What kingdom was the fourth empire? Back to the dream in Daniel 2:40 "And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all [things]: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise." It was known as the iron kingdom and was quite feared for it totally destroyed nations. What kingdom was this? Daniel does not tell us, but the Bible does identify elsewhere the kingdom that was most feared.
John 11:47-48 "Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all [men] will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation." Part of the reason Jesus was turned over to the Roman authorities is that the Jews feared that the Romans would totally destroy their nation. The main reason though is that Jesus preached the truth and called people back to following a "Thus Saith the Lord," but people hate the truth especially when any loss of power may be involved, and thus they ended up handing Him over to die.
Rome began ruling in 168 BC and lasted until 476 AD. They are also known for the use of iron stakes, which was used to nail Jesus to the Roman cross. The cross was used in worshipping one of their many gods known as Tammuz.
Now what world empire followed Rome? None. There has never been a one-world empire since Rome. It fell apart internally dividing into two sections represented by the two legs. There was the Eastern Empire with its headquarters in Constantinople and the other in the West having its headquarters in Rome, but they would not last.
What does Daniel see that would follow the fall of Rome? Daniel 2:41-42 "And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And [as] the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken." Just as feet and toes are connected to the legs, he sees immediately after the fall of Rome, ten small, divided kingdoms arising from the ashes. Did the Roman Empire divide into ten kingdoms when it finally fell?
In an upcoming lesson, we will cover what happened to the three that no longer exist. In the mean time, this is where it gets exciting. God sticks out His neck even further in the next verse. You see, if a mere man put this together, a fifth kingdom would have been specified. This is the twist. Only God could have seen such an event as this and provide the details, as we will now continue to investigate.
Daniel 2:43 "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." Notice the seven most important words in this whole study. These seven words are directly from the Bible which means, we have a choice to make. We can believe either a "Thus Saith the Lord," which leads to eternal life, or we can believe popular Christianity.
The Lord says that Europe will never unite ("they shall not cleave one to another") even if they inter-marry ("mingle themselves with the seed of men"). Over the years though, man has tried time and time again to prove this prophecy a lie. Charlemagne tried to conquer all of Europe in 800 AD and failed. Charles V tried from 1364 through 1380 and failed. Louis XIV of France tried from 1643 through 1715 and failed. Napoleon of France tried twice.
Napoleon was conquering nation after nation and it looked like he was about to prove this prophecy a lie. A minister showed him verse 43 and explained that he would fail. Napoleon got so mad that he had the minister killed and declared, "God himself can’t stop me!" Then late spring he turned his eyes to Russia. Napoleon was quite the genius and did not overlook even minor details. But though it was late spring, God sent an out-of-season snowstorm, which devastated his troops. In retreat he ran into Waterloo were he finally had to surrender.
Then Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany tried during World War I. In fact, with all the intermarrying that went on, World War I was nothing more than a big family feud. All the countries were somehow related back to Queen Elizabeth of England. Fulfilling the mingling of the seed, kings and queens as well as princes and princesses of all of Europe were somehow, blood related. But that whole attempt failed in one big war.
Adolph Hitler from Germany tried during World War II. He almost pulled it off, if he only could have conquered England. And he did almost do that. He lined up his troops along the English Channel and was preparing to cross it when a mysterious fog rolled in. He did not know what to make of it. He checked all the weather maps. It was not suppose to be there. Once again, God intervened. Hitler figured that his only choice was to wait it out. In the mean time, on the other side, the allies were preparing for an attack. The fog gave the allies just the time they needed to prepare. And as the fog began to lift, the troops stormed the beaches of Normandy and preserved this prophecy.
For over 1,500 years, man has tried to prove those seven words a lie, and they are still trying today. God says, "they shall not cleave one to another." I would rather trust what God has said instead of what man says. Amen?
Since these ten kingdoms did not exist during the recording of the Bible, you may be wondering about the Biblical support for this theory. Could these ten kingdoms actually be in the future instead? Well, here is the Biblical support for applying the ten kingdoms to the immediate fall of Rome.
Is God in control of every moment of time? It is declared in Isaiah 46:10, Revelation 21:6, and Revelation 22:13. What else does God reveal at the conclusion of this prophecy?
Daniel 2:44 "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." Praise the Lord, the next World Order is God’s kingdom! This prophecy will only be fulfilled as long as Europe remains divided because that is when He says He will set up His kingdom. And you know what? Europe is well divided even tonight stating that God knows what He means. Amen? In fact, if God can predict exactly four world empires from the time of Babylon and there were exactly four, I can trust God that Europe will remain divided and that God will set up the everlasting kingdom. Now you can see the significance of not throwing the ten toes into some ambiguous future. In fact, is it not like Satan to come up with some theory to get people to think the second coming is further away than it really is? That would be the fourth Biblical piece of evidence to support the ten-kingdom theory as being immediately after the fall of Rome. So we state the fourth point as:
What else does God say about this prophecy? Daniel 2:45 "Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream [is] certain, and the interpretation thereof sure." There will be no more remembrance of any of the previous kingdoms. Further, God reiterates that from the Babylonian era, He is revealing what will "come to pass" and verse 29 stated "hereafter." This means that God revealed every era between the time of Babylon until the second coming without a gap. To believe popular Christianity would discredit God’s Word -- specifically verses 29 and 45. But best of all, God says that "the dream is certain and the interpretation is sure." Praise the Lord! Now that is the "sure word of prophecy" stated in 2 Peter 1:19-21. And that is allowing the Bible to interpret itself.
Isaiah 46:9-10 "Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure." If we truly believe God knows everything and especially the beginning from the end, it is time to put unwavering trust in His Word and not rely on man-made interpretations. Can you see why the Bible can be trusted in all matters?
Which Do You
Want To Follow?
It is time to back up the theories of man by an abundance of scripture or throw the theory out. In these last days, we cannot hang onto the hope of a man-made theory that the Bible does not support, even if it sounds good. 2 Timothy 4:4 "And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
Each of us will be judged individually. I want to be holding onto the Word of God at that time. How about you?
May God bless you and guide you during your time of study.¤
