Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I [am] the LORD that sanctify them. (Ezekiel 20:12)
As many of you know, back in 2004, Jerry was fired for keeping the Sabbath as Ellen White described - by already being in the home as the sun sets with his family. It was a difficult financial time personally but God provided through various means to avoid bankruptcy. Sure, a huge debt was created but as you have seen, it has been greatly reduced to one sixth of the original amount thanks to much hard labor, some donations, and finally a nice paying job for the past year.
This was not Jerry's first issue in keeping the commandments and being left go. As soon as we joined the church in 1994, Jerry was told to pirate software. He refused and was let go the same day.
Now we are in 2009 and on July 7, Jerry shall no longer work that nice paying job. An issue occurred this past weekend in which the government that he is a contractor with needed Jerry's help on the Sabbath. Being unavailable until after sundown caused a great stir that carried on for several days ending with a termination of services.
This could possibly affect this ministry greatly along with others in greater need that he has been providing with financial assistance. Therefore, we solicit your prayers as we enter into the unknown once again.
The good news is that God delivered financially in 1994 and 2004. Unlike 2004, we have only one property to manage. Also, 2004 was the beginning of a 5 year lease on our equipment for producing newsletters. Here in 2009, the lease is nearing its end and so we are faced with possibly letting the lease end and cease the paper newsletters entirely or renew the leases. With the current economy a commitment to a five year lease would be unwise without far greater support from our readers. We are considering on providing our messages via email and on our website only in an effort to greatly reduce our operating costs. In either case, we look forward to doing God's will.
Thankfully there is some income still from his self-employment work. It has been his desire to build up this work to full-time to avoid the Sabbath conflict. However, at this point It is just not enough to sustain the costs of this ministry nor cover personal expenses entirely. Overall, we simply trust in God and look forward to his provisions for we serve a mighty and awesome God! Thank you for the support you may have given this ministry in the past and for your future support as well.
